"Saddle Up" is a bronze sculpture that challenges traditional representations of the horse by deconstructing its form into three distinct sections. The hindquarters are rendered in low relief, the middle section in higher relief, and the head and front legs fully three-dimensional, creating a dynamic contrast between depth and flatness. The ornate saddle, perched atop the fragmented form, symbolizes the human desire to control and shape nature, while the horse itself, in its abstracted state, represents freedom and vitality. The sculpture invites reflection on the tension between human influence and the untamed spirit of the animal, exploring themes of power, domestication, and the complex relationship between humanity and the natural world.
