How it’s Created

These are the steps in the building  of  “The Lionel Rose” sculpture.

  • Newspaper Article in The Age
  • The clay being applied to the armature
  • The head being modelled in clay
  • The clay master near completion
  • Comparing the clay master with the bronze marquette ( scale model )
  • The bronze being poured into the moulds
  • The bronze is poured in sections at the foundry
  • Bronze sections are assembled .
  • The sections then welded together to form the final sculpture
  • The completed bronze of Lionel Rose
  • The bronze is installed on site at Warragul in Gippsland Victoria
  • The sculpture , complete on its granite block
  • The marquette in clay & in bronze
